It’s always nice to be able to include links to some funding announcements. I like flicking through the various projects and thinking about all the activity that’s kicking off as a result.
Elsewhere, I’ve written a thing about digital projects big and small, I learned that The Whitney’s website does a fun thing, and ticketing bots are kinda interesting.
Learning Light is “an interactive studio where you can get creative with lighting design, with help from LuxBot, your personal assistant powered by Google AI”.
Funding
Over 80 UK Projects Receive Nearly £1.2m in First Funding Round. Via Immersive Arts, a scheme "supporting artists of all backgrounds and experience to work with immersive technologies".
Awarded projects submitted as part of the 2024 call for proposals. Digital Museums Canada has announced over $2 million for 18 new online projects.
AI

Online collections
An authentic Magna Carta has been discovered in Harvard's archives. "David Carpenter, a professor of medieval history at King's College London, was searching through the digital archives of the Harvard Law Library when he clicked on a document that would become the biggest discovery of his career".
The Courtauld completes major project to digitise the Witt Library. Two million images that were stored in "over 19,000 boxes and occupying 1.4 kilometres of shelf space". Blimey.
